The government is to pay at least two thirds of home improvements under the Green Homes Grant giving vouchers to households of between £5,000 & £10,000.
Thousands of families are set to receive vouchers which can be used as part of home improvements, this is set to be announced tomorrow by Chancellor Rishi Sunak who aims to make homes greener and more energy efficient.
Under the Green Homes act households will receive vouchers of up to £5,000 for energy-saving improvements such as boilers, central heating or even energy efficient windows and doors. Some families could get up to £10,000.
Rishi Sunak is set to pledge up to £2 Billion in a mini budget on wednesday the 8th of July. As well as vouchers for Windows, Doors or boilers, people could also get £500 each to spend on the struggling high streets.
The plan is that these vouchers will help families in need whilst creating energy efficient homes along with jobs. This will also help the UK meet it’s 2050 target of zero carbon emissions.
The scheme will help create work and new jobs for tradesmen such as plumbers, builders and window / conservatory installers.
Homeowners will have the option to spend the vouchers on insulation, boilers or energy efficient doors and windows.
